Coherent Breathing

I have been sharing the Coherent Breathing Technique in my classes and so many of you have told me how much you enjoyed it and using it had helped you calm your mind and become more peaceful and focused.  One of the many benefits of Coherent breathing is it how easy it is - you can practice it anywhere and in almost any situation. Follow the simple technique below, and as an aid to you - I have recorded the bells I use in my classes to signal the in and out breath for a 5 minute practice. You can play it online or download to your device for use anywhere. Of course you don't need the bells, but they are a great support to allow you to focus on your breath, and let it do the work on your body, mind and spirit.

Mindful Breathing and Meditation

A weekly meditation course to help you to bring you effortless into a state of relaxation and peace. Each week we will deepen our practice and skill, using mindful, creative practices such as breathwork, bodywork, guided meditations poetry etc. to develop awareness and bring us into this present moment which, if practiced regularly, can truly help you start to heal yourself.

There are so many benefits to developing self awareness and mediation, here are just a few;

  • Calm Your Mind - by bring your attention to your breathing, your normal busy mind will begin to let go of it's busyness allowing you to relax.
  • Focus - you can use the techniques in this class as a daily practice, some are so simple you can do them at your desk or in place of a coffee break. This will bring your focus into the present moment allowing you to control your thoughts and better focus on what's important.
  • Reduce Stress & Anxiety. Our minds are often worrying about what happened in the past or what might happen in the future which creates stress and anxiety in our lives. Bringing our mind into the present moment relieves us from these patters of worry and stress and thereby bringing more peace into our lives.
  • Listening. By taking the time to calm our mind and focus on what's happening in our bodies right now, physically, emotionally and spiritually we can begin to really listen to ourselves, get to know ourselves more intimately, increase our own intuition and begin to live more meaningful and fulfilling lives.
  • Community/Connection In this digital age where we have so many ways to connect with each other, we often find that we have less physical connection and social interaction with each other. Coming together gives us the opportunity to practice together, which increases the intensity and power of our practice, and also to meet other like-minded people.

Bhakti Yoga – Chant and Meditation

What is Bhakti Yoga?

Bhakti Yoga is the path "union through love and devotion." It is one of the systems of Yoga and to practice Bhakti Yoga is to having an experience of oneness with everything. The Sanskrit word bhakti comes from the root word bhaj, which means “to adore or worship God.”

Through our devotional striving, Bhakti Yoga takes us to this experience of the Ultimate Love and Truth." Sri Anandamayi Ma

What does Bhakti Yoga involve?

Our practice is to gather together and using the healing power of our voices, we sing devotional chants and mantras and meditate, which moves us into our hearts and to the awareness of love that is our true nature.

Chanting, especially with others, is known to calm the mind, allowing us to let go of anxious thoughts and worries and brings us to a place of peace and clarity. You do not need any experience in singing or meditation, everyone is welcome.

Lucia has a passion for sacred chants and mantras and the power of the human voice to connect us to each other, to the divine in each of us and to the one voice of the heart. Lucia holds a warm, safe and healing space, one where you can discover the voice of your soul.

The class will be held monthly on the last Sunday if each month at 7-8pm.

KEEPING WATCH

In the morning
when I began to wake,
it happened again–

that feeling
that you, Beloved,
had stood over me all night
keeping watch,

that feeling
that as soon as I began to stir

you put your lips on my forehead
and lit the Holy Lamp
inside my heart.

Winter Solstice Meditation

The Winter Solstice is the shortest period of light and the longest darkness. It is a time to pause, be still, to go inward and listen to that inner voice and plant the seeds that will flourish as we prepare for the springtime that lies ahead.

What are you ready to release?
What habits are holding you back?
What is taking up too much space?
What 'new' do you want to open to?

Coming together at this potent time we will plant seeds of intention, meditate and sing ritual chant and mantras.

Temple of Words

A journey through Poetry and Music

An intuitively lead Poetry and Music Bath to nurture and renew your spirit. This immersion reaches into the inner chambers of our hearts and souls and allowing the body and mind to rest, and our inner knowing to open.

Nothing to do but bathe in the of poetry and music of the mystics and wise ones – Mary Oliver, Rumi, Heaney etc.

Breaking Surface

Let no one keep you from your journey,
no rabbi or priest, no mother
who wants you to dig for treasures
she misplaced, no father
who won't let one life be enough,
no lover who measures their worth
by what you might give up,
no voice that tells you in the night
it can't be done.

Let nothing dissuade you
from seeing what you see
or feeling the winds that make you
want to dance alone
or go where no one
has yet to go.

You are the only explorer.
Your heart, the unreadable compass.
Your soul, the shore of a promise
too great to be ignored.

Poetry Workshop

This workshop offers you an opportunity to experience the power of poetry to open your heart, to inspire you, to explore your creative selves. From stillness into a deepened breath, movement into sound and the spoken word into spontaneous writing, you are invited to deepen your connection with yourself and with those around you.

You don't need to be a poet, or even a lover of poetry to attend this workshop. Poetry has the power to cut through, to awaken, to forge new pathways. There are messages hidden inside poems that become alive to you as you hear, speak and write them.

Inspired by the work of Kim Rosen (author Saved by a Poem) and many amazing poets, I invite you to dive with me into the magical world of poetry, music, movement and sound.
